What You Get With HCF Dental Centres?

CF offers eight different additional policies, all of which provide marginal dental protection. From basic bronze policy to fully comprehensive platinum policy, every HCF member is eligible for a 100% discount on certain treatments through HCF's More for Teeth program.

This gives you plenty of options to protect your pearly whites without breaking the bank.

How Does HCF tooth cover?

You can find dental cover on every additional policy of HCF Dental Centres. HCF's additional line includes five separate supplementary policies and three additional policies that are packaged with hospital policy.

Here are details on what specific dental treatments are, what the limits are, and how long you should wait after purchasing your policy before you can claim it.

What is HCF's teeth program?

Whey for Teeth is the name for HCF's Spacious Dental Program, a program that helps you avoid out of pocket costs associated with certain dental treatments.

In most cases, your extra card will only pay a percentage of each individual treatment and you will pay the rest. The area you pay for is called space.

With the More for Teeth program, HCF has partnered with dentists around the country, and if you visit one of them, HCF will pay the full price, up to your benefit range, for several basic procedures:
  • Calendar 1 or 2 tests per the calendar year (depending on your card)
  • Scale 1 is sized and clean
  • Flu 1 fluoride treatment
  • Mouth 2 mouths (limitations apply)
  • You can also use the Mora for Teeth at one of 11 HCF Dental Centres (9 in Sydney, 1 in Melbourne and 1 in the ACT).
More For Teeth is one of six different non-stop extra programs offered by HCF. Others have more on the back, more on the legs, more on the eyes, more on the muscles and more on hearing.

Complete additional policies

You do not need the HCF Hospital policy to purchase one of the five separate additional policies. These are all available to singles, couples, and families. A pair of policies cost twice as much as a single policy. With a family policy, you pay just as much as you pay for the couple's policy (children are included for free).
  • Starter Extra: HCF's starter policy covers general dental procedures such as checks and teeth cleaning. This does not include any major dental work such as root canals or dentures. There is no orthodontics involved.
  • Starter Extras (Optical): - Like the first starter policy, HCF's starter (optical) policy covers only general dental treatments. However, it offers more limitations.
  • Mid Extras: HCF’s Mid Extras Policy covers all of your general dental work and all your major dental work, but not orthodontics.
  • Ital Key Extra: HCF's Vital Extras Policy covers all dental work you need,

Includes general dentists, major dentists, and all orthodontics.

Top Extras: Similar to the Vital Extras Policy, HCF’s Top Extras Policy covers general dental, major dental, and orthodontics, but with greater limitations.

How does it compare with other health funds?

Not all health funds are created equal when it comes to additional policies and dental care. Here are some of the pros and cons of HCF Dental Centres cover:

Pros:

  • Choice. HCF offers many additional policies that provide something for everyone regardless of your dental needs, your family situation or your budget.
  • More on the Teeth Teeth Project. Many insurers offer gap-free dental plans, but not all of them have mouths like HCF's More for Teeth. You also get access to the More for You program, which is more for the eyes and for the muscles.

Cons:

Lack of integrated extras. Integrated plugins provide a benefit range to use the way you want, meaning you can use all of the dentures if you need them. Unfortunately, most HCF policies provide you with separate limits for dental, physio, pharmacy and so on, which means you cannot transfer funds from the PCO to the dentist even if you need it.
