Wisdom tooth is also known as third molars are the teeth farthest away in dental arches. It is the last tooth to erupt if they ever come out. Does wisdom tooth always hurt when it gets erupt?

Usually, the process of wisdom teeth is actually painful. You will feel this pain at the back of your mouth that is behind the molars. If you look in the mirror and your wisdom tooth has just begun to poke, you may also feel that the area is tender, red and inflamed to touch.     

What are the remedies to remove pain temporary?

If you are in real pain and cannot visit the doctor at the same time. Till your visit, you can use these remedies to get temporary relief.

•    Ice in case of swelling

•    Peppermint

•    Guava leaves

•    Clove

•    Baking soda paste

•    Vanilla extract

•    Cucumber slices

When to remove your wisdom teeth?

X-rays can exactly tell if the teeth are causing a problem or not. In some cases, wisdom tooth does not cause a problem and thus can be left on their own. In some cases, dentist cut a small part of the gum; this helps the tooth to come through. Mostly, local anesthesia is given to the patient so that the patient won’t feel the pain. 

If the tooth is deep inside and blocked from the eruption, in this case, general anesthesia is used. As these teeth are large, and the hole needs to be stitched. 

Another complication is a dry socket when the area doesn’t heal properly. Severe pain, bleeding and bad breath from socket are a sign. This can be treated by an oral professional dentist.

It is advisable to visit a doctor in the age of 15-19 years and best to find whether or not your tooth will create a problem or not. The roots begin to grow at teenage so it’s best to take them out at this stage.

Your dentist will surely prescribe you about how to take care of your mouth. Some general suggestions include:

•    Take pain-relievers

•    After every meal, hold warm salty water in mouth.

•    Eat easy to chew foods

•    Don’t smoke

•    Avoid alcohol
